CiteSpace requires Java Runtime 1.4 or higher on your computer. Click here to test if you have the right version of Java installed on your computer. If necessary, click here to download the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to your computer.

You can access CiteSpace in two ways: 1) WebStart – click here to launch it directly, or 2) download the self-installing jar file to your computer and launch CiteSpace with the StartCiteSpace batch file (right-click here to download it to the same directory as the jar file). Once the graphical user interface of CiteSpace appears, you will see a preloaded demo project on terrorism research. Simply press the GO button in CiteSpace to start the demo project.

A short demo video based on an earlier version is accessible either from here or, from CiteSpace -> Help -> Demo Video.

CiteSpace takes files in the ISI Export Format directly as its input. Three sample datasets are provided in the table below. If you have problems, comments, and/or suggestions related to CiteSpace, please feel free to email me. If you would like to share interesting stories and screenshots related to CiteSpace, feel free to get in touch.
